Q. Where is Dixon’s Apple Orchard?
A. We are located in between Santa Fe and Albuquerque NM off the highway just past Cochiti Lake NM.
Q. Do you have school tours at the orchard?
A. No we don't.
Q. What does a Chuckwagon Hayride entail?
A. We begin at the apple shed with a tractor pulled hayride that will weave you through the apple orchard to the Old Log Cabin. Once there you will enjoy live music, led horseback rides, horse pulled carriage rides, a meal cooked especially for you in Dutch ovens over the coals.
Q. What will the weather be like? Snow, wind, rain, cold or hot?
A. In New Mexico you never know what the weather may be. We always strongly suggest that you are prepared for the changes, as we most likely will not ever cancel an event unless travel conditions are dangerous. We will contact you with the number given at time of reservation if we need to cancel.
Q. How long does the event last?
A. Approximately 3 ½ hours.
Q. How long is the hayride itself?
A. It’s about a 10 minute ride through the orchard.
Q. What time should we arrive?
A. You should be there 15 minutes prior to the scheduled event. We leave promptly at the event time you scheduled with us.
Q. What if we are late for our event or can’t make the event for the scheduled date reserved?
A. Unfortunately if you are late or miss the scheduled date we cannot refund any money for these situations. We have to pay for the event in advance.
Q. Are you handicap accessible?
A. No we are not.
Q. Do you take large groups?
A. We can have up to 75 people for one event. These larger groups need to be sure and book early.
Q. What should we wear for the event?
A. Jeans, boots, sneakers, jackets, hoodies etc… We suggest that you don’t dress in heels or more dressy clothing as this is an outdoor event with rustic surroundings. In colder seasons layer and bring extras just in case.
Q. What if someone wants to leave earlier from the event?
A. We run the hayride only at the schedule time.
Q. Do you do special events for weddings or other parties?
A. Yes we do. Just give us a call and leave a message.
Q. Will the blooms be on the trees for your springtime events?
A. We can only hope that they will be but cannot know for sure. We do schedule events according to past years bloom patterns.
Q. How far are you from Abq or Santa Fe?
A. Please know that once you get to either exit off I-25 it will take an additional 20 minutes or so.
